50 Something Dates with 17 Mr. Wrongs Book Launch

This Thursday night I was pleased to attend my friend, Chénelle Taylor's book launch for her dating repository called 50 Something Dates with 17 Mr. Wrongs. I was pleased by the turn out of both sexes but more so the abundance of men who added to the challenging debates. Excerpts were read, questions were asked and comments were exchanged. It seemed that the age old question of "why don't women and men understand each other?"prevailed. As much as we seriously brought our points and testimonials forward, the sexes seemed to have a grand time laughing with each other about their own dating mishaps. It was a group therapy session, so to speak, and the setting facilitated comfort for ease of self expression.

Chénelle gave her vote of thanks at the end of the night with heart warming words to the friends who helped her through the process of publishing her book. Yet another huge milestone for a young woman who doesn't seem to have the best of luck with men. This just emphasizes that on her own she is a force to be reckoned with. Men, approach carefully and hold your own. Chénelle has been through it all and knows exactly what she wants. You can purchase the book online here or can pick it up at Bookophilia for only $1500.

Home-Made Deep Conditioner

Recently, I was reading fellow Jamaican blogger, Candid Cinni's deep conditioner DIY post. I decided to give it a try and tweak it to my liking, using the products available to me. She has natural hair and I grow locs so our product choices would differ but the process would be similar.

I bleached my hair a few weeks ago and I intend to bleach it some more (I won't show pics til I'm comfortable). But ever since I've bleached it, my hair texture has changed. The bleached areas are crunchy and easier to dry out. I knew doing a deep conditioning was what I really needed to restore softness and moisture to my hair. Below I've used a mixture of Organics Olive Oil Cream Moisturizer; an egg; Jamaican Mango & Lime Shea Butter Conditioning Shine; Dr. Miracle's Deep Conditioner (which I mentioned in my Massive Collective Spring Haul); and Jamaican Mango & Lime Protein Conditioner.

After mixing all the ingredients together (a few spoon fulls of each), I applied it to my hair and let it sit for 20 minutes to half and hour before washing it out. In the shower, I thoroughly washed my hair with water and then I shampoo washed it three times with Suave Naturals Daily Clarifying Shampoo. Then, I conditioned with the same Dr. Miracle's Deep Conditioner for about 5 minutes in the shower. After thoroughly washing everything out I dried the excess water out of my hair by wrapping it all up in a t-shirt. After which, I applied a handful of an olive and castor oil mixture to seal.

My hair felt soooooo soft afterwards, unlike how it felt before. I was very pleased with my home-made deep conditioning treatment. I'll be doing this every few weeks from now on. Hope you try it as well.

Hey guys! I've recently uploaded another travel video that's been long overdue from January. It's been 4 months, I know. But I thought now would be a great time to share it. Please watch in 720p and share it with your friends. Maybe I'll take you to more places soon :)
