Product Review: Avon Mosaic Effects Top Coat

I recently ordered the Avon Mosaic Effects Top Coat in gold. The image above shows an example of what the product looks like when applied to a base coat. My friend had tested it quickly on her nail with a very light coat and it began to crack immediately which got me very excited to try it on a full manicure.

To start off, I used L.A. Girl Black Light Nail Polish 'Disco Brites' in fuschia. I didn't wait very long to apply the Avon Mosaic Effects top coat in gold. This may affected the application just a tad because other reviews that I have read say that the crackle works best on a completely dry base coat. I also applied the Mosaic Effects top coat a little thicker than I should but it still worked though not to the best effect. Finally I applied Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Anti-chip top coat (which I mentioned in my most recent video).

The image above shows the base coat and then the top coat before clean up.

And above is the final look after top coat and clean up. I actually really like the effect and know that it can look even better next time. I'll post that up on my twitter when I do it. This polish cost about $800 JMD but I got it on sale.

There should be cheaper crackle polishes out there and there should also be better. But I am pleased with the result especially knowing that the effect can be better with proper application. I'll give it 3.5 out of 5.

Peace, Love & Blaze,
