Fashion's Night Out (FNO 2012) Round Up

Hey everyone! I'm going to talk about what my FNO was like and talk about a few things I liked and disliked about the night. First thing's first, the crowd was significantly smaller than the previous years which made browsing a lot easier. However, in places like Maxie's Department Store and Collectibles Shoes there was no difference from last year. The lines were long and the door ways were packed. Collectibles Shoes took the same approach they always do and placed guards at the door to let in a select number of patrons at a time.

There were a handful of fashionable looking persons although it was very hard to get a hold of most of them due to the crowd. Over all, the shopping experience for many stores was less hectic than last year for example, inside Ammar's. The lines were short and it was easy to walk around and browse in the store. Ammar's, however, was one store that closed from 9pm even though FNO times were 5pm to 10pm. There was difficulty with the credit/debit card machines which led to the frustration of many shoppers.

I tried to get myself a pair of leather pumps at a reasonably discounted rate but because I didn't intend to spend a lot of money I was slightly disappointed at the prices I was seeing in stores like Lee's Fifth Avenue and Ignite shoes store. I didn't have $10,000 JM to dish out that night. I also couldn't get into Collectible's Shoes (which would have been a more reasonable alternative). Instead, I headed over to Payless Shoes Source and picked up two pairs of shoes for a little under $4500 JM in total. So, I didn't leave empty handed which really made my night. Take a look at the pics below!

The Puma store was a hit with Jamaican clothing on sale.

Collectibles Shoes had a huge crowd coupled with the Victoria Mutual Building Society's crowd next door. People were quite fascinated by the human mannequins.

Great shoes inside Ignite but nothing I could afford at the time :(

Peace, Love & Blaze,
Afayah
