Glitter Pumps DIY

Hey everyone! I completed a DIY this weekend and updated an old pair of shoes into "brand new" glitter pumps. This is what they looked like before. I'll take you through the steps.

Step 1 - Gather supplies. Shoes, glue, glitter, bowl, paint brush. (Steps 2 - 4 are optional. You can actually skip straight to Step 5.)

Step 2 (Optional) - Put two parts glue and one part glitter in the bowl.

Step 3 (Optional) - Mix thoroughly.

Step 4 (Optional) - Apply the glue and glitter mix to the shoes as a base.

Step 5 - Apply a coat of glue and spread evenly then sprinkle glitter on top of the glue. Shake off the excess.

Step 6 - Coat with a fixative after the shoe has dried.

And then you're done!

Initially I had coated the shoes with silver spray paint to make the shoe surface matte for easy application of glue and glitter. As you can see, steps 2 through 4 are optional. If you go straight ahead to step 5 you will have a light weight pair of glitter pumps. I, however, opted for a base coat first to ensure that the shoes were properly covered in glitter. They are a bit heavier than when I started the project but it's all worth it. They look like diamond encrusted shoes now and I'm very happy with the results. Try this DIY on a pair of shoes you'd like to update as well :)
