Winter Lipstick Trends | 4 Shades to Try Before Spring!

It's funny how things come full circle. I retired this blog a few years ago to start on another blogging adventure with no regrets. But now that I have started my online makeup store Beauty Jamaica, it only made sense that I share my love for makeup on the blog that started it all.

With that being said, let's get into my Winter lipstick shades to try. The Winter 2016/2017 runways featured a lot of dark shades from burgundy to black and some lighter delicate shades such as nudes and pinks. I definitely see Winter tones hanging in there for the next few months and some of the shades transitioning into Spring. Here are four picks from my personal collection.

1. NUDE: Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Limbo

Here's the great thing about "nude" shades - they can be worn ALL the time! Whatever nude fits you skin tone will be great for any season of the year. I think nude lips works well for everyone but especially persons who love subdued makeup looks.

2. PINK: Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Are & Be

This is a shade that will transition with ease into Spring!
QUICK TIP: If bright colors like this intimidate you then line your lips with a deeper shade before applying the lip color of your choice. This will help to subdue the brightness of the lipstick.

3. RED: Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Avenue

The particular lip shade, Avenue, reminds me of a perfect red that fits every skin tone - quite like M.A.C's Ruby Woo. Red is actually very fitting for winter but is classic enough to be worn all year round.

4. BURGUNDY: Elf Lip Lacquer in Burgundy (Get it HERE)

This isn't the darkest shade you can try this season but I know that some persons can't see themselves rocking black. Burgundy is a great color for anyone who wants to be edgier than just wearing a bright red lip. The color is more subdued and still on trend!

What do you think of these lip shades? Let me know in the comments!
